Job Overview

Manages one or more groups within a cost center responsible for the Clinical Pathology Services, Dose Analysis, Specialty Pathology and Digital Imaging, and Post-Life Laboratory Operations, in compliance with SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory agency guidelines. Primary responsibilities are focused on ensuring successful operation of broadly defined core functional areas such as personnel management, business development, and employee engagement. Collaboration with senior leadership on the development of strategies to enhance the efficiency, development, and effectiveness of the operational groups, and participation in overall decision making as a member of the global management team of the LabOps department are hallmarks of this role. Individual would be managing: 10-15 Direct Reports
- Provides regular feedback and coaching for all direct reports.
- Implements the PMD-process: objective setting, assessments, corresponding appraisal interviews, proposal of salary adjustments and of promotions. Ensures the compliance of objectives with Corporate goals and provides support if expectations are not met.
- Creates the individual development plan of staff in co-operation with the line manager and monitors the staff development.
- Provides guidance for career ladders.
- Responsible for the realisation of the probation period process: designation of mentors, monitoring  the training phase, regular assessment and appraisal interviews including appropriate documentation. 
- Substantially participates in the recruitment process for prospective new team members.
- Implements diversity goals and initiatives.
- Assists in mentoring, coaching, and training of other supervisors as needed.
- Ensures maximum utilization of staff within Laboratory Operations, across cost centers.
- Supports other supervisors and coordinates performance of allocated studies or duties.
 Essential Job Duties:
- Responsible for all related activities, and review of the final product, which is the data submitted in order to produce a final report to the client.
- Schedules and coordinates proactively and in conjunction with other groups or departments the daily activities of the group and liaises with other groups, sections and departments. Organizes necessary resources for conducting all relevant study or non-study related tasks and may participate in the study performance. Ensures maximum utilization of staff within Laboratory Operations.
- Ensures appropriate communication within the group, particularly for dissemination of information (i.e. Study progress, Facility procedures, Quality, Health and Safety, Business Updates and any other departmental or company communications).
- Understands and interprets study plans, reviews them and identifies problems resulting from the study plan or during study conduct and takes appropriate action.
- Optimizes existing and develops new techniques, methods for study conduct or non-study specific areas and supports their application. Develops non-standard procedures when necessary.
- Plans, organizes and participates in meetings (i.e. study start-up meetings, coordination meetings, departmental meetings).
- Report quality and productivity metrics, participates in monitoring the yearly budget.
- Able to maintain databases.
- Ensures quality controls, corrections of errors (incl. documentation) are performed, identifies potential problems and optimizes the quality control system.
- Contains controllable costs and proactively manage expenses.
- Ensures review of standard procedures and recommends changes as required.


- Graduate/Postgraduate, in Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences from an accredited university or college. 
- Experience may be substituted for educational requirements.


7+ years of relevant clinical research experience in a pharmaceutical company or CRO and 1-3 years of people management experience.
Willing to work in 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST)
