Job Overview

Key responsibilities will include targeted efforts to enhance Covance Global Enterprise marketing strategies and tactics. The person in this role will lead and deliver marketing impacts that include but are not limited to:
- Develop and manage marketing strategy, messaging and go-to-market plan for the Covance Enterprise for Asia Pacific. Collaborate cross-functionally across the organization to create continuity of message, internally and externally, and to build complementary resources.
- Define strategy, execute, lead and manage marketing initiatives to support business success of the Covance Enterprise in specific countries. Oversee targeted marketing campaigns that drive interest and preference for Covance and focus on sales enablement and lead generation. Partner with sales colleagues, subject matter experts, marketing colleagues, and other cross-functional colleagues to ensure executional excellence.
- Oversee development of internal marketing strategies to generate energy and confidence and ensure collaboration and adoption of external messaging across all BUs.
- Lead engagement with sales advisory committee to strengthen collaborative interactions with sales, improve quality of customer insights and reinforce a cycle of continuous improvement.
- For growth strategy priorities, partner with demand marketing to deploy compelling marketing messaging and provide guidance on go-to-market strategies (e.g., webinars, multi-channel marketing, social media, etc.) to drive client interest and create differentiation within key country markets.
- Partner with sales and operations for bid defense meeting content and client facing support.
- Collaborate across organizational structures and business units, including peer marketers, to create enterprise level continuity with Early Development, CTTS, GCD and CMA
- Measure impact of marketing initiatives via metrics and dashboard reporting. Make recommendations on improvements and best practices for future programs.
- Collect market, customer and competitor insights and use this information to evolve marketing strategies to differentiate Covance, as well as to provide the sales team with key areas of focus in their selling efforts.
- Perform other marketing and sales support functions, as needed.


- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Science, or Business preferred
- Master's degree a strong plus


- A minimum of a BA/BS; MBA degree preferred
- 10+ years prior work experience in marketing and sales; Specific expertise in marketing life science services highly desirable.
- Extensive experience with marketing strategy, planning, development, and implementation.
- Experience with working for a US-based company and a flexible schedule to accommodate US based meetings/conference calls (as needed.)
- Experience in online/internet marketing, social media channels, knowledge of print production and media.
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with Covance senior management
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Excellent written, project management, presentation and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
- Must be a self-motivator – able to influence events and people to achieve goals
- Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and problem-solve; Positive attitude and sense of urgency
- Strong analytical, time management and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to travel globally - ~20% travel
